Hope Hollow is a dream that we have shared for some time…being able to support those struggling with cancer because, our lives have been so affected by this disease.
Jane’s family has experienced cancer. As a child, she lost her mother to pancreatic cancer. Her mother’s sister – a second mother to Jane – succumbed to the same disease. Then a second sister survived colon cancer.
When Jane was diagnosed with medullary thyroid cancer in 2007, we received the good news that it appeared to be encapsulated and had not metastasized. In December 2010, Jane was diagnosed with breast cancer. After two surgeries and seven weeks of radiation treatment her prognosis appears to be very promising, due to early detection. We have since spoken our gratitude daily to God and others. We are now living that gratitude by offering lodging, hospitality and support to persons coming to Columbus seeking medical care for their diagnosis of cancer.
Hope Hollow offers, at no cost, a place of lodging and respite that is peaceful, welcoming and supportive to people with cancer, their family members and friends. We offer a place of hospitality and hope to these individuals while on their journey.
A wise person once said, “strangers are just friends we haven’t met yet.” In the spirit of caring, we believe that Hope Hollow provides friendship, support and a place for persons to feel at home while traveling away from home. We hope to make a positive difference in the lives of friends we have yet to meet.
